walmart in korea

my legs were still shore when i woke up this morning. went to the bakery for bread and got a doughnut while i was there too. it was gooy, sugary, greasy goodness. we didn't make it to the meditiation this weekend. we had a time mix up, we'll definitely try to get there next sunday. instead we went to walmart. yes, there's a walmart here. 8 stops on the subway in pyeongchong. we took a mini-walking tour through pyeongchong before entering the walmart. a group of small boys said hi to us. it seems like we are always a major attraction with children. then they ran up behind us to say hi again and asked me my name. in return i ask his. i think he said joon henson or something like that. it hard to understand sometimes. we found a park which is so much better than our park here. there were all these water fountains with kids playing in them and man made rivers where people were dipping their feet in. i so hope we get that in our park. there were also a soccer field, basketball courts, and a track for rollerbladers. they also have electronic cars that kids can sit in to rent. what fun.

when we got back to ansan city we decided to get some food. of course we went to our favorite bbq place. its was pretty empty but once we walked in the owner greeted us and called us by our names. we were both shocked. the meal as usual was delicious. there were some new side dishes this time: tempuro sweet potato, some kind of root, little greeen beans, and pickles. so yummy. the owner sat with us the whole time. we tried to have a conversation with her but its often difficult. we were stuffed from all the food but that didn't stop her from bringing us a treat. we were thinking some kind of dessert when she brought these little dishes that looked like they have sugar in it. weren't we surprised when she brought out a plate of what looked like bacon. it was actually beef which is fairly expensive here. didn't have the heart to tell her i was stuffed i ate more food. it was good. she's so nice. bringing us free dishes. it was definitely time for a nap after that meal. at home i laid on my bed and discovered i have more cable channels. i now have some e! shows and mtv korea. exciting stuff. thats all for tonight. until next time. stay tuned to ketv…
