teaching is hard

tonights entry is going to be short and sweet. not much really happened today. i was actually in a grouchy mood. i basically used up my bitch card for the month. good thing this month is almost over. i think a lot has to do with planning the damn halloween party. i'm beginning to feel like noone else is helping out and i'm left to figure everything out. wouldn't be so bad if there were resources here to help. i realized today while trying to download stuff from the web that there is a lot of crap out there. i must have looked at hundred different halloween coloring pages and the illustrations were shit. i could draw better than half of these witches i've seen and that isn't saying much. two more days. it looks like i'm going to stay with the luke skywalker idea. tomorrow night i'm going to make a light savor. oh what fun.

sally forgot her homework today which made her very upset. it took me 10 minutes to tell her that it was all right. and then during her spelling test she couldn't figure out how to spell higher and she started to cry. she was all upset because on the last test she got 100 and she wanted to get that score again. that took me 20 minutes to calm her down. i decided to help her with the word and once we worked it out she got in better spirits. she too young to put that much pressure on herself. i felt so bad. afterwards we did a little reading then relaxed for the rest of the class period. she's so cute.

i gave my orange b a test today on their reading homework from monday night. that was interesting to say the least. the highest score was a 60. one girl told me she only read part of the story. she scored a 25. not sure why these older kids don't take things more seriously. one girls reading is really bad. i'm probably going to have to give her extra attention. she couldn't even figure out basic words and she just doesn't seem interested. then there's my class of boys. which i'm not even going to go into because that would be a blog entry of its own. it was a very exhausting day.

my solution for that: watch an episode of charlie's angels. not sure what i'm going to do when i finish those dvds. they best start working on session 3. one thing that made my day better was that i recieved some music from adriana. i can't wait to listen to it. thanks for bringing some joy to my grouchy day. you're the best. i think i hear my bed calling me. night all. until next time…
