ok, i admit it. i'm completely addicted to korean dramas. the beauty of these dramas is that they only last for 16 to 20 episodes then it's done. there are no cliff hangers and no need to wait for new seasons start. love it! i spent the last couple of weeks watching coffee prince.

the story revolves around a young girl who is mistaken for a guy and the love that begins to blossom between her and the manager, who believes she's a boy, at the coffee shop. although it's not a true gay love story [since she's really a girl], it's still great to see the theme of homosexuality playing out in a korean drama. you get the sense of them saying love shows no boundary. the story itself was light-hearted and quite entertaining. plus the actors were all quite yummy. of course i had a favorite, hwang min-yeop, who was played by lee eon. his character was the meat head of the 4 princes. his character stole every scene he was in. i loved it when he was on screen. he's definitely a hottie. plus he models. meow! which definitely adds to his hotness.

well, i'm off to find a new drama to watch. i'll be sure to let you know if i find another gem.

for all those music fans out there i wanted to share something that kristin hersh [50 footwave & throwing muses] has started up. it's called CASH music and instead of explaining it myself, i thought it would be best to share the actual words written by her:

Welcome to the sparkly-new CASH Music.

As many of you may already know, CASH is an acronym -- it stands for the Coalition of Artists & Stake Holders. The name indicates just what we're all hoping to build here -- a coalition through which we blur the line that's traditionally stood between creators of content and the consumers of that content.

We're all stake holders here. We all stand to gain from a productive relationship. Maybe it will help to think of this relationship as a conversation. For instance, I start the conversation by writing and recording a song every month, like the one I'm posting here this month, "Slippershell." You respond by listening & sharing "Slippershell" with others.

Sharing is encouraged, I license my work through Creative Commons. If you're unfamiliar with Creative Commons, do yourself a favor and check out the licenses I use. They're in plain English and provide better, more realistic and rational copyright protection.

i think its great that there are actually musicians out there who are all about the music and not the fame and the money. you can tell that music is her soul and without she'd be lost. by supporting these kinds of organizations one actually feels like they are supporting the artist directly and not the major labels. i listened to the new release this morning and i must say its definitely up to kh standards. so in keeping what the notion that they set forth i felt i should help spread the word and share the information here. you can download the single by clicking here.

if you check out the site be sure to read some of her other posts, especially the one about betty hutton. she is definitely an amazing writer.

thanksgiving was celebrated with my best pals misty & kate. the feast was held at misty's. the guest list included me, misty, ted, kate, & jill. misty & i started some of the cooking the night before. we also busted into a pumpkin pie.

on the menu:
turkey
mushroom/sausage stuffing
shrimp
pickles
deviled eggs
sweet n spicy nuts
salad
dinner rolls
mashed potatoes
gravy
asparagus with bacon cheese sauce
balsamic & brown sugar glazed beets
cranberries
pumpkin pie
chocolate cupcakes
wine

needless to say we stuffed ourselves senseless. highlight of the day was my creation of beet snowmen.

saturday misty & i went downtown. probably not the smartest move on our part seeing that everyone else decided to go too. we walked around for a bit then found it quite bothersome so we left. that night i met up with adawg at the eagle. the bartender asked for my id. whatever! it was so not crowded. we had a good time though. we made up a sweet love story about the couple standing by the fire. i'm gonna turn it into a short story. hehe.

today [which is sunday] we attempted to go see wristcutters, however, it wasn't playing at the metreon like it was suppose too. instead we headed over to the embarcadero center cinema to see i'm not there. the movie was entirely way too long and i often found myself to be quite confused. perhaps my day would have been better spent in chinatown.

after 2 months and 21 days the search is finally over—I HAVE AN APARTMENT!!! i just got back from signing the lease. boy does that feel good. now i can start enjoying life again. the apartment will be available on 12.18, however i won't be able to move in until 12.29 since i'm off to miami and sunshine on 12.16. but at least i have a home. and its a good one. there's an awesome view of the city, presido, and even some mountains. it has hardwood floors, a decent sized kitchen, and a large walk in closet. and did i mention its all mine. hehe. the building itself is quite cool. its the tallest on the block. i can't wait to start decorating and settling in.

i hope everyone has an awesome holiday.

this past week has been somewhat of an emotional roller coaster for me. mostly due to the apartment hunting. i guess narrowing your options down to a specific neighborhood has its drawbacks. there's the limited postings or the never call you back scenarios. i think i can finally see the light at the end. there's a possible prospect on the horizon and hopefully by the end of the week i'll know for sure. keep your fingers crossed for me.

saturday it rained all day. i met up with adawg which was nice since we haven't had any one on one time since my return. we grabbed lunch at a vietnamese restaurant then i took her to my favorite shop on clement street. from there we ventured on to my favorite neighborhood coffee spot. it was great to play catch up. she always has a way of making me smile. i spent the rest of the weekend inside uploading three years of photos to flickr. damn, that sure is a lengthy process. it is fun to revisit my days in korea and beyond. all righty…time to upload some more.
